back beneath that california sun and it feels oh so good. literally.

its about that time of year when i miss that california sun

coachella valley arts and music festival. my third year, and i plan to bring my kids someday.

it is 9 degrees here

and i miss that california sun.

today is the day. it has been announced that my christmas in april will be a spectacular one, as robyn, cold war kids, interpol, mumford and sons, bright eyes, steve angello, fedde le grand, cage the elephant, the radio dept., the strokes, duran duran, duck sauce, jimmy eat world, angus and julia stone, jack beats, delta spirit, and pj harvey (just to name a few) will be all under my christmas tree. coachella is not just a music festival that caters to over 70,000 people, but a celebration of life, art, and the music industry itself.
regarding the lineup, i was a bit disappointed to not see the heavily rumored daft punk headling one of the nights. i was also extremely disheartened to not see santigold on the lineup! her music has been a love of mine for many years now, and i have been patiently waiting for the opportunity to see her, as she is always in europe. kanye west headling sunday seems to follow the footsteps of jay-z’s awkward place in last year’s lineup. Kings of Leon was heavily predicted, but i cannot say I am too thrilled. i personally have seen them twice, with their last show lacking energy and vigor, and would have rather seen someone old. Now, let me clarify that phrase “someone old.” The Rolling Stones! It was rumored, and i have to admit i wish the rumors were true. However, despite my disappointments, i have my ticket in hand, hotel and flight booked. i am eager to soak up the sun, get an awkward shorts tan, and enjoy the beauty of indio, california on april 15, 16, and 17.
